Day 1 of the #TribecaFilmFestival has begun and the line up is fantastic! Major stand-out though is the #VirtualReality live experience. If you have #RobertDeNiro spending a good hour or so having his own VR experience at the lounge, it speaks volumes.
The story concepts are outstanding, innovative, creative and literally break the "4th wall" in terms if creative freedom. From unscripted, scripted to visually stunning experimental pieces, VR content is here to stay. With Samsung mobile already out with its VR gear, this medium is fast becoming accessible to the masses through mobile digital platforms. Everyone needs to check out the #VR experience at the #Tribeca HUB at 50 Varick Street, New York, NY, now!
DAY 1 VR content highlights :
1. The Turning Forest :
"In a magical forest enchanted with sounds, a young child stares into the eyes of a fantastical creature..."
The colors and graphics are so vibrant that you can't help getting immersed into this one. The Turning Forest is a virtual reality fairytale written by #ShelleySilas, Directed by #OscarRaby, and with 3D sound by #BBC Reasearch and development/S3A.
"Notes On Blindness : Into Darkness" is a feature film and multi-platform interactive project based on the audio diaries of writer and academic John Hull, who – after decades of steady deterioration – became totally blind in 1983.
Drawing from the same source material as the Emmy Award-winning short film of the same name, it is a poetic and initimate story of loss, rebirth and transformation, charting John's extraordinary journey into 'a world beyond sight'
